"Do you pay regularvisits to yourself?"- Rumi

Experience deep peace and inspiration during a personal retreat at Sukha Nordic Retreats, surrounded by the forests of Värmland. Here you will find everything you need to reconnect with yourself, supported by ancient traditions and modern insights from mindfulness and Ayurveda. Ayurveda & Mindfullness

At Sukha Nordic Retreats, we offer a holistic approach where Ayurveda and Mindfulness go hand in hand to give you the balance you need to feel good – both physically and mentally. Through Ayurveda, you gain personal insights into which diet and lifestyle suits you, and Mindfulness helps you let go of the obstacles and patterns that hold you back from living in harmony and inner balance.

According to Ayurveda, each individual is unique and has their own constitution. When you get to know your body type, your strengths and weaknesses, you gain a deeper understanding of how to best create balance in your life. Living in line with your natural constitution not only gives you health but also a sense of inner happiness and well-being. However, for many, this balance is affected by factors such as stress, unhealthy diet or lifestyle – which can lead to various health problems such as burnout or hormonal disorders.

During our first conversation, we will map out your specific needs and focus on what is most important to you. We will then tailor your Ayurvedic treatments. If you wish, Mariëlle, an Ayurvedic practitioner, can provide personal advice on lifestyle, nutrition and Ayurvedic herbs – or even consult with an Ayurvedic doctor if needed.

Mindfulness is a powerful method for being present and accepting of what is, without judgment. It helps you listen to your body's signals and look at yourself with compassion, especially when life doesn't go the way you planned. Relaxation is not a goal in itself, but a natural consequence of practicing conscious presence. It gives you the opportunity to break negative patterns and find your inner peace, which leads to more longterm health and wellbeing.

Tailor-made retreat experiences combining Ayurveda and Mindfulness – for those who want to find balance, renewal and inner harmony. Let us help you regain your energy and live in harmony with your body and soul!

Ayurvedic treatments

The daily Ayurvedic treatments are tailored to your individual situation and wishes, so that you get the most benefit possible.
Abhyanga
Abhyanga means rubbing with hot oil. During the Ayurvedic massage, warm herbal oil tailored for you is applied to the skin, which has an immediate relaxing effect. The oil is then massaged into the skin so that it penetrates deep into the tissues and the herbs can have their healing effect.

Udvartana
Udvartana is a powder massage where the whole body is massaged with an herbal powder. It increases blood circulation and fat burning, making it very suitable for overweight people. It also improves the skin and reduces itching.

Pinda svedana
Pinda svedana is a massage with herbal stamps and can be used locally, for example for shoulder and neck pain, as well as for the whole body, for example for overweight or joint problems.

Svedana
Svedana är en form av bastu-behandling där huvudet sticker ut. Värmen från svedana gör kroppen och lederna smidiga, ökar matsmältningen, renar kroppen och lindrar trötthet. Svedana används ofta efter abhyanga.

Kati basti
Kati basti is a hot oil bath on the back. The heat from the oil has a pain-relieving effect and the herbs in the oil have a unique therapeutic effect, including against hernia, lower back pain, osteoarthritis and other forms of back pain. Kati basti can be done after a local pinda svedana.

Hrd dhara
Hrd dhara is a treatment of the heart area with a warm herbal oil. It is used for emotional distress and trauma. Hrd dhara can be done before an abhyanga.
